The Provincial Government of Batanes has officially introduced Executive Order No. 23, Series of 2026, marking a significant transition toward digital visitor management. This new policy adopts the Batanes Smart Tourism Registration Portal and Visitor Identification System, a centralized platform designed to streamline the entry process for both local and foreign travelers. By integrating pre-registration and identity verification into a single digital interface, the province aims to strengthen its tourism monitoring while ensuring that the influx of visitors remains manageable and sustainable for its delicate ecosystem.

The implementation of the Smart Tourism Registration Portal serves as a comprehensive tool for profiling and monitoring visitor data. Beyond simple documentation, the system facilitates the collection of the Sustainable Ecotourism Management Fee and the newly introduced Visitor ID Fee. Travelers are now required to pay PHP 200 for ecotourism management and PHP 205 for their Visitor ID.
