Enhanced Global Connectivity: Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines Expand Strategic Partnership

In a significant move set to redefine air travel for passengers in the Philippines and beyond, Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have announced a major expansion of their strategic codeshare network. This enhanced collaboration, effective June 1, 2026, promises seamless connectivity and enriched travel experiences, underscoring the growing importance of the Philippine market in global aviation. The partnership is poised to offer travelers unparalleled access to a wider array of destinations, strengthening both airlines' positions in key international corridors.

Under the expanded agreement, Philippine Airlines will integrate its (PR) code onto Qatar Airways flights originating from major Philippine hubs—Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao—to Doha. From Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, passengers will gain direct access to over 20 prominent European cities, including Paris, Rome, and Frankfurt. Conversely, Qatar Airways will extend its (QR) code to Philippine Airlines’ domestic routes, facilitating smooth onward journeys for international arrivals in Manila and Cebu to popular Philippine leisure destinations such as Caticlan and Puerto Princesa.

Further enhancing passenger benefits, the loyalty programs of both airlines, Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club and Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles, will now offer reciprocal advantages. This integration allows members to collect and spend Avios or miles across the combined global networks, significantly expanding opportunities for earning and redemption. For Privilege Club members, this means broader access to routes across Australasia, Southeast Asia, and the US via PAL’s extensive network, while Mabuhay Miles members can leverage Qatar Airways’ vast reach into Africa and Europe.
