EL NIDO, Palawan — The Philippines has claimed the top spot in the World’s 50 Best Beaches 2026 list, with Entalula Beach in El Nido crowned as the No. 1 beach in the world.
Often described as Palawan’s “overlooked slice of heaven,” Entalula Beach is known for its powdery white sand, dramatic limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear waters—features that helped elevate it from No. 2 in 2025 to the top spot this year.
In its citation, World’s 50 Best Beaches praised the destination for its remarkable seclusion and natural beauty.

“The water is exceptionally clear, with calm conditions that make it easy to swim and simply take it all in. With access only by boat, it remains quieter and helps preserve its more natural feel. It’s the contrast of majestic cliffs, clear water, and amazing seclusion that gives Entalula its edge as a place that feels both dramatic and calm at the same time,” the organization said.
Accessible only by boat, Entalula offers visitors a quieter alternative to more crowded beach destinations, preserving its untouched charm and exclusivity.
Another Philippine destination, Kalanggaman Island in Leyte, also made the prestigious list, ranking 25th worldwide. The island is renowned for its long white-sand bar stretching into clear turquoise waters, offering sweeping ocean views in every direction.
The World’s 50 Best Beaches is an annual ranking curated by travel professionals and beach experts, recognizing destinations for their landscape, water quality, seclusion, and overall experience.
