Ask guests what they remember about a hotel and many will mention the room, the food, or the location. Yet the qualities that stay with them often come from something less visible. They come from the culture behind the scenes. At Citadines Roces Quezon City, that culture bears the imprint of General Manager Faith Quijano, whose influence can be seen in the way the property operates and in how people are looked after, both guests and staff.

“We welcome different guests,” she says, “but we don’t change who we are for each one. We stretch what we already stand for.”

That idea carries through the way different stays unfold in the same space. A business traveler moves quickly through the lobby, already focused on what comes next. A long-stay guest enters with ease, greeted by staff without ceremony. A weekend visitor slows near the seating area, taking time before deciding where to go. These patterns sit side by side without friction.

What connects them is repetition of care. Staff greet guests without scripting. Check-ins move without disruption. Even waiting feels absorbed into the flow of the space rather than interrupting it.

Quijano notes how expectations have shifted. Time now matters not just in speed but in clarity—whether systems work without repetition, whether recognition happens without explanation.

“Technology helps,” she says, “but it’s still the human side that defines the stay.”

That balance is most visible in shared spaces like Alejo Restaurant. Mornings bring steady movement—coffee poured, plates served, brief exchanges between guests who may never meet again. Later, the room settles into a slower cadence without being reset, simply adjusting to how it is used.

Outside, Quezon City moves in constant motion. Traffic builds and clears. Sidewalks fill and empty. Inside, traces of that movement remain but are softened. A detail at reception inspired by Apo Whang-Od brings cultural reference into the space without turning it into decoration.

Sustainability runs quietly through operations under Ascott Cares, reflected in sourcing, daily routines, and long-term material use. “It’s not a separate effort,” Quijano says. “It’s how we work.”

Her leadership mirrors the same approach. Gratitude is not something reserved for speeches or special occasions. It is reflected in everyday actions and in the way she looks after her team when demands are high.

There is no attempt to make the property larger than itself. What stands out is how it accommodates different kinds of movement without forcing them into a single pattern. Guests are free to use the space as they need, without feeling directed from one experience to the next.

When they do leave, Quezon City is already in motion again. The hotel doesn’t separate from that flow. It simply gives people a place to step out of it—and return with a little more ease.
