Now Pouring In Quezon City: 2B Turns The Familiar Into Something Unexpectedly New

Quezon City, Philippines — A new address in Quezon City is reshaping the speakeasy idea. Along Scout Rallos corner Scout Tobias in Laging Handa, 2B opens less like a bar and more like a lived-in space where cocktails take center stage. It does not announce itself loudly. It settles in through detail, pacing, and familiarity that unfolds slowly.

Inside, the shift is immediate. Soft lighting. Close seating. A room that favors conversation over crowding. Built for nights that do not need rushing—whether a first meeting, a second stop, or a conversation that stretches past midnight. Intimate without feeling confined, restrained without feeling distant.

At the core of 2B is a cocktail philosophy built on contrast. Each drink begins with something familiar, then moves somewhere unexpected through technique, texture, or pairing. Recognition first, then a shift. The menu does not demand attention. It rewards curiosity.

Signature serves set the tone. Apple and Parmesan blends white rum and vanilla ice cream with sour apple and hazelnut, clarified into a clean layered pour. Corn and Miso leans savory, combining tequila reposado with butter, miso, and bitters. The flavors land easily, then unfold in stages—simple at first sip, more complex as they settle.

Behind 2B are three perspectives shaping one space. Dhenzell Lao draws from years of global travel and exposure to bar cultures abroad. Shaydell Lao, trained at Le Cordon Bleu, builds a food program that moves in step with the drinks. Ella Lee brings a Korean-Filipino lens shaped by Seoul’s modern drinking culture, where tradition meets experimentation. Together, they form a room that feels deliberate but unforced.

At the bar, Nico Adolfo leads with precision. With experience from The Spirits Library and Yardstick Coffee, his approach balances cocktail craft with coffee discipline—clarity, consistency, restraint. There is no excess in execution, only timing and control. Plans are already in place to evolve 2B into a daytime coffee concept while keeping its core identity intact.

With just 35 seats, 2B keeps things close and considered. No excess. No performance. Just a room built for staying longer than planned, where pacing matters as much as the pour.

2B is now open. The doors are small, but the intention is not. Reservations are available via direct message at @2b.mnl on Instagram, Tuesday to Sunday, 6PM onwards.
