Taguig City, Philippines — Panunuluyan: A Musical Journey of Faith and Giving brings to life the timeless Christmas story of Joseph and Mary’s search for shelter through a stirring Filipino sarsuela. Rooted in tradition, the production reflects themes of faith, hospitality, and hope, while reminding audiences that Filipino cultural practices, like the stories of our veterans, must be preserved and passed on.

This landmark production is the first musical theater work produced by the Board of Trustees of the Veterans of World War II, in partnership with Takipsilim Community Theater, bridging history and heritage through music, movement, and storytelling. Beyond retelling a biblical journey, Panunuluyan speaks to the enduring challenges faced by Filipino veterans and the responsibility of each generation to keep their legacy alive through the arts.
The production is written and directed by Meldrig Costuna. He is a nominee for Best Director for a Musical at the 38th Aliw Awards. Musical direction is led by Eugene Belbis, an award-winning composer and music director, recipient of Best Musical Direction for a Musical and Best Composer for Original Music for Theater, who is also a nominee at the upcoming 38th Aliw Awards.

Panunuluyan stars Carlo Fabillar as Joseph and Stacy Maxilom as Mary, supported by a dynamic cast of young, emerging actors, singers, and dancers. The ensemble reflects the heart of the production, with performers as young as nine years old, mostly teenagers, and a few young adults in their twenties, highlighting the show’s mission to make history and heritage relevant to today’s youth.
The performances will be held on December 19, 2025, with shows at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, at the Philippine Veterans Museum MALT, (Museum, Archives, Library, and Theater), Taguig City.
Panunuluyan invites audiences to experience a moving celebration of faith, culture, and resilience, where the past and present meet on stage to inspire future generations.
