Pasay City, Philippines — February 9, 2026 — Tourism leaders from Taiwan and the Philippines gathered at Lanson Place Mall of Asia for the Taiwan Tourism Workshop, a key industry event aimed at strengthening bilateral partnerships, expanding travel opportunities, and showcasing Taiwan’s latest tourism offerings for the Philippine market.
The workshop convened travel agencies, airline partners, tour operators, hospitality groups, and media representatives for a full day of presentations, market updates, and business-matching sessions. The program focused on sustaining the strong growth of Filipino travel to Taiwan while building new collaborative programs between tourism stakeholders from both destinations.
In his keynote message, Mr. Deng Shi Yang, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, highlighted the steady rise in tourism exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines. He noted that Filipino travelers continue to show strong interest in Taiwan due to its accessibility, safety, vibrant culture, and diverse food scene. He also emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between government and private sector partners to ensure consistent tourism growth and enhanced visitor experiences.
Mr. Jaison Yang, President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), underscored the vital role of Filipino travel professionals in driving outbound tourism and positioning Taiwan as a repeat-visit destination. He noted that evolving traveler preferences — from food tourism and nature escapes to cultural immersion and urban experiences — strongly align with Taiwan’s diverse offerings. He encouraged closer coordination between Taiwanese suppliers and Philippine agencies in developing themed packages and value-added travel experiences.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ease Huang, representing Taiwan’s tourism sector, presented new promotional directions tailored for the Philippine market. His presentation highlighted destination diversity, seasonal attractions, and regional experiences beyond major cities. He also shared plans for expanded trade engagement, joint marketing campaigns, and collaborative promotions aimed at reaching new traveler segments.

Participants engaged in business-to-business meetings and destination briefings, allowing Taiwanese suppliers and Philippine buyers to explore concrete partnership opportunities. Several exhibitors introduced new tour routes, niche travel experiences, and updated services designed to make Taiwan even more accessible and appealing to Filipino travelers.
Organizers emphasized that the workshop forms part of Taiwan’s continuing regional outreach efforts to deepen travel industry ties and sustain visitor growth momentum. With strong air connectivity and sustained traveler interest, stakeholders expressed optimism that Taiwan–Philippines tourism exchanges will continue to expand in the years ahead.
