Air Canada is set to offer direct flights between Vancouver and Manila starting in April 2025, marking the airline's first direct service to the Philippines. This new route will provide passengers with a convenient non-stop option to travel between Vancouver, Canada's Pacific gateway, and Manila, a bustling seaport city in the Philippines.
Manila will join Air Canada's global network as the airline's 12th destination in the Asia-Pacific region, which includes major cities such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The Vancouver-Manila route will be a year-round service, making it the only direct flight operated by a Canadian carrier between the two cities.
Mark Galardo, Air Canadaâs Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning, expressed excitement about the new route. "We are thrilled to add Manila to our global network with new, year-round, non-stop service from Vancouver," he said.
Strengthening Ties Between Canada and the Philippines
B.C. Premier David Eby noted the significance of this new connection, stating that it will strengthen both cultural and economic ties between Canada and the Philippines. "B.C. is home to a significant Filipino Canadian community who make incredible contributions to our province. A new direct route between Vancouver and Manila will make it easier for people to travel between these two cities for business, trade, and family visits," Eby said.
