Manila, Philippines - November 15 officially marked the beginning of the holiday season for Ascott Makati, as the property’s colleagues, guests, and partners gathered in anticipation of the annual tree lighting ceremony to usher in the festive spirits. In this season of giving, Ascott Makati delightedly brings their ongoing partnership with ANTHILL to new heights, adorning their unique Christmas tree this year with ornaments from the inspired “Preskong Pasko” collection of Ms. Anya Lim, founder of ANTHILL, to facilitate the beginning of a truly abundant Christmas.

The evening began with a decadent selection of pass-around canapes paired with special Christmas-themed cocktails and hot cocoa. It was followed by a stellar performance with the incredibly talented UST singers' chorale group. The event then came to a head with the grand tree lighting proper, where supervising Tourism Operations Officer, Mr. Ivanovich Agote of the Department of Tourism joined The Ascott Limited Philippines’ Country General Manager Mr. Patrick Vaysse, Cluster General Managers Ms. Cecille Teodoro, Cluster General Manager Mr. Rennan John Reyes and Ascott Makati Assistant Residence Manager Ms. Diane Kasilag to ignite the beautifully adorned tree.

ANTHILL, founded by the creative and talented Ms. Anya Lim, is a beloved social and cultural enterprise grounded on contemporary and circular design principles that call for the appreciation for locally-made couture and accessories. The concept behind the mission of ANTHILL inspired Ms. Cecille Teodoro to move towards a collaboration back in 2022; fast forward two years, and the tie-up has brought ANTHILL PHP 801,083 across 1849 meters of weaves used by artisans, doing so, 80 artisans were supported as colleagues of the property proudly wears the traditionally woven articles as their uniform, representing sustainable, yet elevated Filipino couture. Ascott Makati shares in ANTHIL’s dreams to bring a bigger spotlight for our artisans through direct collaborations that bring lasting attention to each textile partner so that vibrant and inspiring collections like “Preskong Pasko” can continue to make their way to the hands of more and more Filipinos.
