The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is widening its support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by welcoming 11 new logistics and related firms into its Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) Network.
DTI Secretary Cristina Roque, speaking at the ceremonial signing on Wednesday, stressed that logistics is a lifeline for businesses in an archipelagic country like the Philippines. She noted that efficient supply chains not only keep commerce moving but also ensure faster aid delivery during calamities. With the Philippines now home to nearly 120 million people and ranked as Southeast Asia’s fourth-largest e-commerce market, Roque said strengthening logistics is essential to sustaining growth.
Since its launch in June 2025, the SCLC Network has grown to more than 100 transport, storage, and delivery firms. Alongside the expansion, DTI also introduced 33 industry specialists under the Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG), tasked with offering free guidance to MSMEs on operations, distribution, and scalability.
FAST Logistics Group executives were among those named, including CEO for Logistics Manuel Onrejas Jr., Vice President for Strategic Growth Initiatives Gladys Ceniza, and Cold Chain Solutions Head Marc Anthony Dizon. Onrejas emphasized the need for resilient and adaptable supply chains amid rising disruptions and cost pressures, while Ceniza described logistics as an “economic multiplier” that accelerates business growth, job creation, and competitiveness.
For MSMEs, the expanded network and guild represent more than technical assistance—they provide access to collaboration, expertise, and systems that can help level the playing field in a fast-changing market.
