Back in 2016, our magazine had the pleasure of featuring Dusit Thani Manila, capturing its blend of Thai elegance and Filipino warmth in the heart of Makati. By that time, the majority of the guestrooms and suites had already been renovated, unveiling lighter, contemporary interiors accented with gold details and lotus-inspired artwork, replacing the darker tones of the past. From the gleaming gold lobby to the delicate melody of a kim—a traditional Thai hammered dulcimer—welcoming guests, Dusit Thani Manila was more than a place to stay—it was a home where Thai grace and Filipino warmth seamlessly intertwined.
Since that feature, the hotel has continued to evolve with thoughtful transformations. Wooden furnishings crafted by Cebu artisans blend Filipino craftsmanship with Thai sophistication. Dining and leisure experiences remain vibrant: Benjarong continues as a premier Thai fine dining destination, The Pantry thrives as a favorite all-day restaurant offering a wide variety of local and international dishes, and the Dusit Club Lounge provides an exclusive rooftop retreat for private check-ins, refreshments, and evening cocktails.
Dusit International has also expanded its footprint across the Philippines. dusitD2 Davao opened in 2019 in the emerging business district of Lanang, introducing contemporary luxury to Mindanao. Alongside it, Dusit Thani Residence Davao, also launched in 2019, offers fully serviced apartments for short or extended stays, combining convenience with full-service Thai-inspired hospitality. In the Visayas, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort presents a beachfront escape infused with Thai design and service. Closer to Manila, dusitD2 The Fort caters to lifestyle-focused travelers. Looking ahead, Dusit Greenhills Manila is set to welcome guests in late 2026 with 200 rooms, a rooftop bar, and banquet facilities, offering yet another urban retreat.
These developments reflect Dusit International’s commitment to evolving with the needs of modern travelers while honoring its heritage.
