Future-Proofing Tourism Through Sustainability, Strategy, and Stories

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The Good Travel Stories Competition 2025, organized by the Society for Sustainable

Tourism (SST) in partnership with Green Destinations Southeast Asia, is a regional

celebration of real-world sustainability in tourism. This platform recognizes inspiring

initiatives by tourism enterprises—hotels, resorts, tour operators, community enterprises,

and SMEs—whose practices reflect the principles of responsible travel, climate action, and

the triple bottom line: People, Planet, Profit.

Open to all tourism-related businesses and destinations, the competition invites entries in

video or image-based storytelling formats, highlighting impactful initiatives that address

environmental stewardship, community development, heritage protection, and ethical

business operations.

Winning stories will receive international exposure through Green Destinations’ global

network & Conference to be held in Montpellier, France in September 2025 and serve as

replicable models that can inspire positive change across the industry.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

policy alignment, and capacity building, proudly serving as the Southeast Asia Partner of

Green Destinations. Since 2010, SST has empowered governments, tourism boards, private

sector stakeholders, and community enterprises in Southeast Asia and beyond, through

Under the leadership of its President & CEO, Susan Santos de Cardenas—a recognized

global mentor and strategist in sustainable tourism—SST continues to guide tourism

transformation toward inclusive, regenerative, and climate-resilient growth.

A CALL TO MEDIA: BE A GREEN DESTINATIONS MEDIA AMBASSADOR

Now more than ever, the tourism industry needs champions—voices that can inspire,

educate, and influence. We invite Travel, News, and Lifestyle Editors, Journalists, Bloggers,

and Content Creators to become “Green Media Ambassadors” —partners in amplifying

Good Travel Stories across platforms, audiences, and borders.

Your support as a media advocate is vital. By sharing these stories, you help spotlight

solutions that work, celebrate tourism that uplifts communities, and encourage others to

follow the path of sustainability.

Let us work together to inspire a better kind of travel—one story at a time.
