In an industry built on connection, few leaders embody people-first energy quite like Cielo Ortega-Reboredo. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Okada Manila, she brings both warmth and drive to a role that demands equal parts strategy and soul.
For Cielo, Women’s Month goes beyond celebration—it’s recognition long overdue. “Women have endured challenges and often been taken for granted,” she shares. “It is only right that we are celebrated.” More than that, she sees it as a reminder for women to value their own worth, embrace self-love, and lead by example.
Her journey into hospitality and sales feels almost instinctive. An extrovert by nature, Cielo thrives in environments where relationships matter. “I enjoy connecting with others and creating meaningful experiences,” she says, a mindset that clearly shaped her career path.
A defining moment came in 2015, when she received the Virtus Awards’ Leader of the Year honor. It wasn’t just recognition—it was clarity. “I knew I didn’t just want to lead, but to inspire and empower other women,” she recalls. That intention continues to guide her leadership today.
At the core of her approach is passion. It fuels her perseverance and keeps her grounded in continuous growth. “As a leader, we shouldn’t stop learning,” she emphasizes—a philosophy that keeps her evolving in an ever-changing industry.
Cielo also highlights the natural strengths women bring to hospitality: adaptability, resilience, and the ability to nurture while multitask. These qualities, she believes, elevate not just teams but entire guest experiences.
Her advice to young women is simple yet powerful: believe in yourself, stay passionate, and lead with integrity. “You have the power to inspire and create meaningful change,” she says.
Behind her strength is a lifelong inspiration—her mother, Corazon, a teacher for 44 years. Watching her dedication and excellence left a lasting imprint, shaping Cielo’s own commitment to her craft.
Like many leaders, her journey wasn’t without challenges. Doubt and moments of mistrust tested her, but also strengthened her resolve. “Never lose faith in yourself,” she says—a lesson she carries forward.
For the industry, she points to something often overlooked: acknowledgment. “Even a simple gesture makes women feel seen and valued,” she notes, adding that a culture of support can unlock even greater leadership potential.
Her message this Women’s Month is as vibrant as her personality: “Keep shining, keep striving, and keep slaying—our potential as women is limitless.”
