The "Love the Philippines" campaign has gained international recognition, receiving the Jury’s Special Award at Tourism EXPO Japan 2024. This accolade celebrates the campaign's dedication to showcasing the country's cultural vibrancy, stunning landscapes, and sustainable tourism initiatives. DOT Secretary Christina Frasco welcomed the award, highlighting how the campaign aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s tourism goals.
Japan remains a significant source of tourism for the Philippines, with over 290,000 visitors this year. Frasco noted the growing rapport between the nations and emphasized the campaign's continued success in the global arena.
Tourism EXPO Japan, which featured over 80 international participants, highlighted the increasing global appeal of the Philippines as a destination. As part of the event, the DOT launched a new audio-visual presentation for World Tourism Day, showcasing the country’s diverse attractions, from its unique biodiversity to rich cultural traditions.
The award at Tourism EXPO Japan is the latest in a series of honors for the “Love the Philippines” campaign, following its recognition as Asia’s Leading Tourism Campaign at the World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania, and a nomination for Best Marketing Campaign at Asia Best of the Best Awards.
