TACLOBAN CITY – The provincial government of Northern Samar has teamed up with Island Living Channel (ILC) to spotlight the region's tourism potential and attract investments.

Provincial tourism officer Josette Doctor shared that the collaboration, spearheaded by Governor Edwin Ongchuan and ILC chairman and CEO Radjie Caram Jr., aims to leverage ILC's platform to showcase Northern Samar's strengths.

“This initiative will not only boost tourism but also open doors for sustainable development by positioning Northern Samar as a prime investment destination, particularly in tourism, agriculture, and real estate,” Doctor explained in an interview with the Philippine News Agency.

Governor Ongchuan emphasized the importance of the partnership, describing it as a key step in unlocking the province’s potential.

“This collaboration with ILC is a transformative opportunity for Northern Samar. It aligns with our vision to position the province as a premier destination for tourists and investors. By highlighting our rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and the warmth of our people, we aim to reach a global audience, driving economic growth and cultural exchange,” Ongchuan said.

Northern Samar boasts a variety of attractions, including the iconic Biri Rock Formations, the historic Capul Island, the picturesque Pink Beach, and the serene Busay Falls. Other highlights include Lalaguna Mangrove Eco-Park, Pinipisakan Falls, and centuries-old Spanish-era churches scattered across the province.

With its 24 municipalities, including Catarman, Biri, Laoang, and San Roque, Northern Samar is set to benefit from increased visibility and new opportunities brought by the partnership.

The provincial government remains optimistic that this collaboration will pave the way for sustainable growth and heightened recognition of Northern Samar as a must-visit destination and a viable hub for investments.
