The Philippine Embassy in Beijing, which also represents the Philippines in Mongolia, has launched a photo booth in Ulaanbaatar to promote the country's beautiful beaches and world-class diving spots. The exhibit, titled “Explore and Love the Philippines,” was opened on Monday at the Shangri-La Mall and will run until December 14, 2024.
Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz welcomed Mongolians to explore the Philippines, encouraging them to visit the country's tropical shores during Mongolia's harsh winter. “From your steppes to our shores; from your snow to our sand; come explore and love the Philippines,” FlorCruz said in his speech. He highlighted popular destinations, urging visitors to "snorkel in Boracay, dive in Palawan, swim with the sardines, or watch the whale sharks in Cebu."
FlorCruz also emphasized the importance of showcasing the Philippines’ natural wonders to Mongolia, a landlocked country in Northeast Asia. He pointed out that the Philippines has been recognized as the World’s Leading Dive Destination for six consecutive years by the World Travel Awards. In addition, Boracay was named the World’s Leading Luxury Island Destination, and Amanpulo was recognized as the World’s Leading Dive Resort.
The Philippine Embassy aims to spark interest in Filipino tourism among the Mongolian public by presenting breathtaking images of the country's beaches, dive spots, coral reefs, and marine life.
Besides the photo booth opening, Ambassador FlorCruz also attended a Christmas gathering for the Filipino community in Ulaanbaatar, further strengthening cultural ties between the Philippines and Mongolia.
