The Philippines has once again cemented its status as a global tourism powerhouse, clinching six prestigious accolades at the 2025 World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia and Oceania Gala Ceremony held on October 13.

Top Honors for Natural Wonders
The country celebrated its eighth win as Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, a nod to its breathtaking coastlines and iconic beaches.
For the seventh consecutive year, the Philippines was named Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, showcasing its vibrant marine biodiversity and world-class dive spots.
It also secured a back-to-back victory as Asia’s Leading Island Destination, reinforcing its reputation as a tropical paradise.
Institutional Excellence
The Department of Tourism (DOT) was recognized as Asia’s Leading Tourist Board, applauding its efforts to promote sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive tourism.
Spotlight on Iconic Destinations
Boracay earned its second straight title as Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination, while Clark Freeport Zone was honored as Asia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Destination, highlighting the country’s diverse tourism offerings.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco hailed the awards as a tribute to the dedication of tourism frontliners—guides, hospitality workers, artisans, and more—whose warmth and resilience continue to captivate global travelers. She emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering communities, fostering sustainable growth, and delivering the signature Filipino hospitality that defines the nation’s tourism brand.
