Edible Candy Flowers Turn Heads at New Branch Opening

by: Tony Agudo

May 1, 2025 – SM Fairview, Ground Floor (Near Parkway Entrance, beside Coffee Bean)

In a heartwarming twist of resilience, grit, and creativity, Sweetblooms officially opened its newest kiosk in SM Fairview with a simple blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony last May 1. Known for its signature "pastillas flowers," the brand offers a sweet—and edible—alternative to traditional floral gifts.

Sweetblooms is no stranger to the Filipino public. What began as a humble hobby by founder Ms. May De Vera, during her college years — creating candy bouquets for friends and relatives — has blossomed into a full-fledged business that has already spanned 17 years and counting! However, like many small ventures, it took a major hit during the pandemic lockdowns. So, the opening of their fourth kiosk in SM Fairview is not just a business revival, but also a symbol of hope and persistence for entrepreneurs everywhere.

With their tagline: “The flower you’ll love to eat!”, Sweetblooms’ Pastillas flowers have become a favorite among students, young couples, and budget-conscious gifters. Starting at just ₱25, these candy creations are far more affordable than real flowers, but still carry the same heartfelt message. And unlike regular bouquets that wilt in a vase, these sweet blooms can satisfy more than the eyes—they’re a treat for the taste buds too, especially for those with a sweet tooth.

Each petal is made of soft, creamy pastillas with just the right amount of sweetness, reminiscent of the classic Filipino candy we all grew up loving. Wrapped and arranged into charming floral bouquets, Sweetblooms’ products are a big hit for Valentine’s day, Mothers’ Day, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or even to just to make someone precious smile.

As the scent of milky candy wafted through the air and passersby stopped to take a closer look, it was clear—Sweetblooms is back, and it’s more blooming better than ever!
