When Gen. Marbil was asked how the Officers' Ladies Club (OLC) could contribute to the greater good of the PNP, Brigadier Gen. Jezebel D. Medina, Director of the PNP Health Service, came up with a brilliant idea — the (LAB) Love and Blessing Virus. Inspired by the First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos's LAB for ALL project, which brings essential medical and government services to Filipinos nationwide, this new initiative was designed to extend that same spirit of care to the members of the police force and their families.

LAB for ALL had already proven to be a game-changer in bridging gaps in the healthcare system, especially for those in far-flung areas. It offered free medical services, including mobile clinics and laboratory tests, to help those who needed it the most. Seeing its success, the OLC Foundation, Inc. decided to create their own version, aimed at providing medical assistance to sick members of the police force.
The heart behind the LAB Virus was Mary Rose Marbil, an OLC Foundation Adviser, who saw it as an opportunity to spread love and hope across the country. Through her journey to various regions, she quickly realized that the most significant thing for cancer patients and their families wasn’t just the medical aid, but the recognition and support they felt from PNP officials and their wives. That recognition—knowing they were not alone—was a powerful source of comfort.

So, Mrs. Marbil set off to personally visit the regions, making sure to touch the lives of countless individuals along the way. From distributing financial assistance to providing gift packs, the program offered a tangible lifeline to PNP members and their loved ones. Each visit became a symbol of hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, they are seen, heard, and cared for.
In every stop, Mrs. Marbil found that what mattered most was not just the material help, but the emotional and moral support — the simple act of showing up and letting people know they mattered.
This initiative has become so much more than just a medical program. It’s a testament to the OLC Foundation’s deep commitment to the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect the nation. By offering both medical aid and emotional support, the LAB Virus aims to foster a sense of community and remind everyone that no one stands alone in times of need.

As the LAB Virus continues to spread, its message of hope and love grows stronger, proving that even the smallest act of kindness can spark a wave of healing and connection in the most unexpected places.
