In a significant boost for Australian travelers and Philippine tourism, Qantas and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have expanded their partnership, allowing Qantas Frequent Flyers to access 15 new island destinations across the Philippines. This collaboration, effective immediately, opens up unprecedented opportunities for seamless island-hopping itineraries, connecting major Australian cities to some of the most picturesque and culturally rich locations in Southeast Asia. The move reflects a growing demand for diverse travel experiences and strengthens the Philippines' position as a premier destination for discerning travelers.

This enhanced partnership enables Qantas Frequent Flyers to book Classic Reward seats across PAL’s extensive network, providing greater access to destinations previously less accessible through points. Travelers can now utilize their Qantas points to explore world-renowned spots like the pristine beaches of Boracay, the vibrant diving capital of Cebu, and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Palawan province. This initiative directly addresses the increasing interest among Australian travelers in exploring the Philippines, with recent data from the Philippine Department of Tourism indicating a 19 percent increase in Australian visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year.
Philippine Airlines currently operates 22 weekly flights between Australia and Manila, including daily services from Sydney and Brisbane. The ability to book reward seats in Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins across these routes, and then seamlessly connect to domestic flights, significantly enhances the value proposition for frequent flyers. This strategic alliance not only simplifies travel logistics but also encourages longer, multi-destination trips within the Philippines, fostering deeper engagement with local communities and supporting the growth of regional tourism.
The collaboration between Qantas and Philippine Airlines is a testament to the dynamic evolution of the aviation and tourism sectors. By leveraging their combined networks and loyalty programs, both airlines are providing greater flexibility and choice for travelers, while simultaneously promoting the Philippines’ diverse attractions on a global stage. This partnership is expected to further stimulate tourism flows, contributing to economic growth and cultural exchange between Australia and the Philippines, and cementing the archipelago’s reputation as Asia’s ultimate island escape.
