So, Do You Need an Image Consultant? Or Are You Better Off Without One?

When business leaders come across the idea of undergoing executive coaching or image enhancing programs, not everyone enthusiastically says “Yes!” or even considers the idea.

Do you feel the same? If yes, you’re not alone.

As an image consultant, I’m naturally wired to convince you that you need training. But I do understand why many people are hesitant in working with an image consultant or going through executive coaching. Plus, we are living in trying times. I understand that people are focused on more important stuff to keep their businesses afloat during this pandemic.

As mentioned above, their reasons are valid. If your reasons include one of the following, I understand.

Why People Don’t Think They Need an Image Consultant

It’s Not Part of the Budget

People don’t want to invest in image consultants because they believe their budget cannot accommodate it. I’ve met business executives who refuse to invest in executive coaching because they had already budgeted for other important business activities. Some people think they can spend their money on something “more valuable” compared to image coaching. With COVID-19 teaching us to budget, it’s no wonder that many people are tightening their belts and being more mindful of their expenses

Lack of Time

Time is a valuable resource almost everyone is running out of. “I have no time!” is a common excuse for everyone, especially when they are offered to do tasks that aren’t part of their schedule. This is true for personality development and image consultation.

Plus, if you do have free time, wouldn’t you rather use it to rest?

It’s Not A Need

Many people aren’t keen on the idea of hiring an image consultant because they are satisfied with their current skillset. In some cases, a person can’t make sense of how an image consultant was necessary. For example, if you’re a housewife, you don’t have an audience at home (unless you have visitors), so how can you benefit from the services of an image coach?

Others are fine without thinking about personality development. Plus, if they need to improve on something, Google has the answers anyway. The best part about the Internet is that most of the resources are free.

If these are your reasons for not considering professional coaching, that’s OK. It’s natural. If you think that you’re good where you are, that’s fine. But if you want to be better, know that an image consultant can help you. While I still support you when you say you don’t need to hire an image consultant, I should bring up the other side of the coin.

Why You Need An Image Consultant

It’s a Worthy Investment

There is always room in your budget, especially for things that promote your success and personal growth. Executive coaching, personality development, and image coaching are worthwhile investments, especially for business leaders and career-oriented individuals. Professional training programs hone your skills in management and communication — both of which are helpful in driving more customers and sales to your business.

You Can Make Time

People have time when they make time for it. Distractions and procrastination are big schedule killers. Think about it: how much can you achieve if you get rid of distractions and finish your tasks on time? You’ll have more time to do fruitful activities, such as investing in your personal growth.

Some people might think of image consultation as a “waste of time.” But here’s another question: which is more fruitful? Learning how to communicate better to rake in more sales or spending hours on your phone to watch Netflix?

We Need Coaching

There is always room for improvement; therefore, there is a need for professional development. No matter how old or professional you are, you can still learn. With an image consultant, you learn how to develop executive confidence, how to manage your team better, and how to lead the team during trying times (like the one we’re currently in).
