Discipline. Integrity. Service. These core values define the Philippine National Police, shaping its officers and guiding their actions. Reflecting on my On-the-Job Training at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame nearly two years ago, I now realize how these principles have influenced my own personal and professional growth.

As an intern at the PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), I was immersed in a structured environment that emphasized teamwork, precision, and a deep sense of duty. I observed officers who upheld integrity in their work, ensuring that justice and service remained their highest priorities. This exposure left a lasting impression on me, instilling values that continue to shape my work ethic today.

One of the most impactful moments of my career so far was witnessing the embodiment of these principles beyond the force. In March 2025, I had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Mary Rose P. Marbil, whose leadership in transforming the PNP Officer’s Ladies Club into an SEC-registered foundation highlighted the essence of service. Her vision to provide support not only to police officers and their families but also to individuals in need was a testament to the enduring commitment of those within the PNP community. Seeing her dedication reinforced my understanding that leadership is about purpose, not just authority.

Looking back, I see how my time at Camp Crame instilled in me a discipline that I still carry as a corporate employee. The structured environment taught me punctuality, intentionality, and efficiency—values that have become integral to my professional identity. The respect for deadlines, the responsibility to execute tasks with precision, and the commitment to serve with integrity are lessons that continue to guide me in my career.

As I reflect on my OJT experience, I recognize that it was more than just an internship. It was a defining chapter in my journey—one that deepened my appreciation for leadership, service, and discipline. The dedication I witnessed at Camp Crame remains an enduring source of inspiration, reminding me that no matter where I am, I can carry these values forward and make a meaningful impact.
