Tide Bar, Pampers, and Whisper: Saying Goodbye to the Philippines?

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced that it will discontinue the sale and production of several of its well-known products in the Philippines, including Pampers baby diapers, Whisper feminine care pads, and the Tide laundry bar.

According to the company, this move is part of a strategic portfolio adjustment designed to sharpen its focus on core products and innovations. P&G explained that shifting consumer buying behavior and the growing competition from more affordable local and imported alternatives have influenced this decision.

Reports show that these products have not been restocked since November 2025, which explains why supermarket shelves and online stores have begun running out. For many Filipino households, the absence of these familiar brands has already become noticeable.

P&G clarified that this does not mean it is leaving the Philippine market. Instead, the company emphasized that the change is intended to keep it competitive by concentrating resources on categories where it sees stronger growth potential.

The transition is expected to continue in the coming months as remaining stocks are sold off. While Pampers, Whisper, and Tide Bar will no longer be part of P&G’s local lineup, the company reaffirmed its commitment to Filipino consumers through other flagship products and future innovations.
